We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the Pratt Green Trust for its generous contribution towards the recording of Siskin Green’s new album, Living in the echo. The funding covered our transport costs for the album recording sessions in Dumfriesshire, providing practical support at an important stage of the project.
Behind the finished music are the arrangements, journeys and costs that enable us to come together and do the work. Transport may not be the most visible part of that process, but it is essential. By funding these journeys, you supported the practical foundations of the recording and helped us bring our plans into reality.
We are delighted to have made Living in the echo and deeply appreciate the Trust’s part in its story. The album was launched at Greenbelt Festival – and we are already hearing from listeners who are using the material in their own churches. Forthcoming gigs include an event in collaboration with Christian Aid at St Machars Cathedral in Aberdeen, and a concert as part of the Four Corners festival of reconciliation in Belfast next year.
And finally, the following album review beautifully captures the band’s engagement with both the folk music scene, and the canon of hymnody.
and the album can be heard here!
